Stereolithography works by focusing an ultraviolet laser onto a vat of photopolymer resin. The UV laser is used to draw a design on the surface of the vat that solidifies the resin and forms a single layer of the desired 3D object. This process is repeated for each layer of the design until the 3D object is complete.
 
SLA is an advanced plastic part 3D printing technology for printing high precision, high resolution, low cost and high throughput parts across a wide range of applications such as prototyping, end-use part manufacturing and rapid tooling production. The technology produces precise plastic parts that rival CNC and injection molded parts, with the freedom of complexity and speed advantages of 3D printing.
