Seoul, South Korea, December 30, 2024 — Model Solution, a total hardware platform company and a subsidiary of Hankook & Company Group (formerly Hankook Tire Group), announced that it has received two CES Innovation Awards for innovative products co-developed with key customers. The CES Innovation Awards, presented by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), recognizes the world’s leading innovative technologies and products. These awards are part of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the world’s largest technology show." One of the award-winning products at the event was the AI Smart Goggles, developed in collaboration with Virnect, a company specializing in artificial intelligence (AI) and extended reality (XR) technologies. This product enables smart factories utilizing digital twin technology and is optimized for industrial sites managing semiconductor and medical device production, which require cleanroom environments. These goggles, built on augmented reality (AR) software, ensure high stability in complex environments and reduce task time and errors through an AI guidance system. Additional features include remote support, an AI voice interface, and real-time information sharing. Designed for practicality in industrial environments, the goggles can replace traditional safety glasses in industries like semiconductor manufacturing, where eye protection is crucial. Incorporating color, material, and finish (CMF) design, a specialty of Model Solutions, the product blends both functionality and aesthetic value. Its lightweight design also minimizes user fatigue, even during prolonged use. The AI Smart Goggles are expected to be officially launched in the first half of 2025, significantly enhancing productivity and work efficiency in industrial sites. “We are pleased that the AI Smart Goggles, developed in collaboration with Virnect, have been recognized with a CES Innovation Award,” said Byung-Il Woo, chief executive officer of Model Solution. “We will continue to expand our lineup of AR devices for diverse industries, including medical, manufacturing, construction, and logistics, enhancing our competitiveness in the global AR market.” Model Solution also developed a product with distinguished designs and advanced features, helping Graphene Square, a company specializing in graphene materials and technologies, win the CES Innovation Award in 2024 for its Cordless Transparent Graphene Cooker. The company recently signed a contract with Graphene Square for mass production of the multicooker and is preparing for its domestic launch in 2025. From Jan. 7 to 10, Model Solution will participate in CES 2025 in Las Vegas, to showcase its proprietary industrial AR devices to target global customers. The company plans to exhibit the industrial AI Smart Goggles, co-developed with Virnect, and the MS-AR20SE, an industrial AR Head-Mounted Display (HMD) developed entirely in-house, from design to engineering. The MS-AR20SE is a monocular AR device designed for lightweight and usability to maximize user convenience in various industries. It supports functions such as remote support, IoT data visualization, and digital work instructions, while also offering expandability through accessories like external batteries, flashlights, and thermal cameras. The MS-AR20SE is currently undergoing final testing at Hankook Tire & Technology’s plants and scheduled for release in 2025.
