■ Participating in Korea’s ₩6 billion Design Innovation Capability Enhancement Program, part of the 2025 Design Industry Technology Development initiative ■ 33-month dedicated R&D on personal mobility solutions, focusing on scenario-based design, personalized content, and new form factors ■ Leading hardware development through proprietary manufacturing platforms and advanced mobility engineering capabilities Model Solution Co., Ltd., a global innovative hardware platform company and an affiliate of Korea & Company Group, has officially launched a national project titled “Hyper-Personalized Personal Mobility Service Design Development.” This project is part of the 2025 Design Industry Technology Development Program supervised by the Korea Evaluation Institute of Industrial Technology (KEIT), and falls under the ₩6 billion Design Innovation Capability Enhancement Project. Model Solution will lead Task 8 of the 13 designated subprojects, receiving approximately ₩1.7 billion in R&D funding over 33 months. The company aims to develop personalized mobility services that reflect individual driving purposes, user behavior patterns, and various indoor and outdoor environments. Key development areas include: • Environment- and scenario-based design • Development of personalized content tailored to user needs • New form factor designs optimized for weight reduction, accessibility, and intuitive operation The project will be carried out in collaboration with design firm BKID and the Industry-Academia Cooperation Foundation at Hanyang University, led by Professor Kang Chang-mook. Model Solution will take the lead in hardware development by leveraging its proprietary integrated manufacturing systems and mobility engineering expertise, while working with partners to ensure technical robustness. To address social changes such as population aging and increasing demand for individual transportation, the project also includes the development of public-integrated designs. These will explore integration with infrastructure such as public transit and healthcare facilities, aiming to enhance mobility for transportation-disadvantaged populations and promote sustainable urban mobility. From a UX (User Experience) perspective, the focus will be on enhancing operational convenience, intuitive information recognition, and driving safety. Final products will undergo field testing at welfare and medical institutions to validate their effectiveness, and strategies will be developed for both domestic and international expansion using the company’s existing partner network. In parallel, Model Solution is also developing smart actuator technology applicable to personal mobility drive systems. These actuators are being developed using Axial Flux Permanent Magnet (AFPM) motors, with scalability designed for broader applications such as robotics and next-generation mobility devices. “This project is centered on designing mobility solutions tailored to the characteristics and needs of individual users,” stated Byung-il Woo, CEO of Model Solution. “By leveraging Model Solution’s integrated capabilities in product planning, design, and manufacturing, we aim to introduce a next-generation personal mobility platform that embodies both inclusivity and technological competitiveness.”
